Vicon Industries, Inc., a designer and producer of video security systems and high performance IP cameras, announced that its new generation of products, including Valerus VMS, VAX Access Control, and Surveyor MKII PTZ Camera Domes, are now available for architects and engineers to specify through the online tool SpecWizard on the ARCAT website.

SpecWizard online tool

This free resource allows visitors to ARCAT website to click on the Vicon components they would like included within their surveillance system design, and SpecWizard immediately compiles a comprehensive, 3-part CSI formatted specification based upon their selections. Use of SpecWizard can save hours off the time A&Es would otherwise spend reading through and assembling specs of individual products and combining them into a CSI formatted specification that represents the entire intended system.

Vicon has been at the forefront, among manufacturers of physical security solutions, in offering this valuable service. Its line of products has been available through the free ARCAT SpecWizard online library for over five years, which serves as a popular resource for the important A&E channel. The addition of company’s new Valerus VMS, VAX Access Control and high-performance MKII PTZ Camera Domes expands the scope of components and types of solutions that A&Es can incorporate into their plans.

Early customer engagement

The company’s new generation of products have all been built with the goal of simplifying the entire user experience, and their availability through SpecWizard exemplifies this commitment at the earliest stages of the customer engagement—the project design phase.

Bill Wilke, Vicon’s A&E Support Manager, says that “Vicon understands that customer loyalty and long-term relationships are built not just upon the quality of our products, but on the value of the support we provide. Making our solutions available through SpecWizard, and thereby helping A&Es be far more efficient in doing their jobs, makes us that much more of a valuable partner.”
