QNAP® Systems, Inc. recently upgraded its Vmobile 3.1 app for both iOS® and Android to enhance event alarm and crisis management efficiency with the addition of push notifications, instant event playback and an improved user interface.

With the prevalence of smart devices, being able to timely manage surveillance systems has become increasingly useful. However, users need to log in periodically for live view and event monitoring. "To improve the user experience, Vmobile 3.1 comes with an advanced push notification function, freeing users from constantly monitoring their mobile surveillance app. Vmobile 3.1 also supports instant event playback and low-resolution streaming, so users can playback alarm recordings with optimal bandwidth within seconds,” said Andrew Yu, product manager of QNAP Security.

Instant push notifications

With Vmobile 3.1, users will get instant push notifications when motion detection and alarm input events occur, and users can link to the channel to see the live view and then check event playback. Concerning limited network speeds, Vmobile 3.1 supports transcoded low-resolution streaming under low bandwidth mode or customised low-resolution streaming by dual recording support. Besides, Vmobile 3.1 includes an improved user interface to make adding additional servers and network camera setup profiles easier. Vmobile 3.1 supports full screen display under live view and playback mode to hide the tool bar and maximise screen view. Furthermore, Vmobile supports 4K surveillance live-view and playback as long as the smart devices supports 4K display.

Vmobile 3.1 is a professional surveillance mobile app, offering functions including camera live-view, PTZ control, instant event notifications, video search by date/time, low bandwidth video playback, dual recording playback, and instant video sharing.

Availability

Vmobile 3.1 is now available for iOS from the App Store and Android from Google Play. Vmobile 3.1 should be used with a QNAP NAS with Surveillance Station 5.1 or a VioStor NVR with QVR 5.1.
