A provider of visualisation technology for the simulation market, Barco, and display solution provider and integrator, project: syntropy, are jointly showcasing an impressive multi-channel dome visual solution at ITEC 2017, Rotterdam, 16-18 May. The solution presents the Barco F70-4K6 projector to the training and simulation market for the first time in Europe. The two companies have also joined forces with system partners domeprojection.com and Quantum3D. The result clearly shows the benefits of combining the strengths of leaders in their field.
Barco F70-4K6 multi-channel projector
Bringing the best possible training experience to life demands the best technology and expertise attainable. The visualisation system must include a realistic scenario and software, a high-quality screen and structure, and the integration expertise to bring it all together. In order to deliver this experience, a number of manufacturers—all leaders in their field of expertise—have bundled their efforts to showcase a prime flight simulator system at ITEC.
The visual display system was created by systems integrator, project: syntropy, and runs on a dome screen with a diameter of 4 meters (13.12 feet). HFOV is 180°, and VFOV is +100°/-30°. The visualisation system consists of the newly launched Barco F70-4K6 projectors in a 6-channel setup—shown for the first time to the training and simulation community in Europe. Camera-based auto-calibration by domeprojection.com makes sure that the system performs optimally at all times. The scenario was created by Quantum3D and runs on their image generator.
Delivering high-resolution visuals
“The training and simulation market is increasingly becoming a hyper-focused market, demanding great expertise in every aspect of the implementation,” says Christoph Bode from project: syntropy. “Teaming up with a number of market leaders is the best guarantee to deliver our customers the quality they need. Barco’s F70-4K6 is bringing us high resolution, great flexibility, and the simulation features that are necessary to satisfy this market’s stringent requirements. This projector will be perfect for our most demanding projects—whether they’re for day or night training.”
“Fully integrated demonstrations such as this are much more than trade show glitter—potential customers, and the entire industry, gain a high degree of confidence from seeing the combined technical achievements of project: syntrophy, Barco, and Quantum3D and immediately view us as a highly-capable team and partner,” adds Dave Fluegeman, VP, Simulation for Barco.
The visual display system will be showcased at ITEC 2017, from 16th – 18th May, at Ahoy in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, at the project: syntropy booth (#41b).
