ASSA’s CLIQ Remote has the functionality to create time defined user keys, allowing access for a specified period of time
The CLIQ Remote system allows only those with necessary authority and training to obtain access to animal enclosures

Twycross Zoo has purchased ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote system by Rossells Locksmiths and ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions.

Based in Atherstone, Leicestershire, Twycross Zoo is a registered charity, renowned as an internationally important primate conservation centre and has a wide variety of monkeys and all four types of great ape, including the UK’s only group of bonobos.

Rossells Locksmiths worked closely with the site development team at the zoo to explore a key management solution. ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote system was selected and installed on the gibbon habitat, providing a simple and intelligent electromechanical locking system to improve security and access.

The CLIQ™ Remote system allows only those with the necessary authority and training to obtain access to animal enclosures. ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote has the functionality to create time defined user keys, allowing access for a specified period of time. This is a useful feature for vets and zookeepers who may need to access the enclosures outside normal opening hours.

Chris Bowles, Director at Rossells Locksmiths, said: “We installed ASSA’s CLIQ™ cylinders at Twycross Zoo to upgrade the zoo’s previous masterkey suite, ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote system has allowed the zoo to operate more efficiently.”

Claire Oldham, Director of Discovery and Learning at Twycross Zoo, said: “We were looking for a modern key management system. ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote solution enables us to have secure control over our keys. We have plans to install ASSA’s CLIQ™ solution across the whole zoo, as we redevelop the site.”

Simon Wilson, National Sales Manager – CLIQ™ Remote, at ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions: “A copied or lost key is an immediate security issue in any organisation, ASSA’s CLIQ™ Remote system allows administrators to grant access, or to block lost or stolen keys remotely and conveniently at the zoo, reducing the risk of keys falling into the wrong hands.”
