AMAG Technology, the security solution manufacturer specialising in access control, video management, policy-based identity solutions and visitor management, announces the release of Symmetry Blue, the new Bluetooth reader which delivers a highly secure, convenient and intuitive alternative to open doors. The reader combines Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) with card reading capabilities to deliver integrated access control for Symmetry customers.

Enhancing mobile access control

“AMAG steps out into the forefront of the industry with the new Symmetry Blue reader range, offering a mobile access control solution that is not dependent on a portal or subscription to operate,” said AMAG Technology, Product Manager, Andy Goodwin. “By turning smart phones and other mobile devices into credentials, companies can improve internal efficiencies and save money.”

Symmetry Blue app

The Symmetry Blue reader range is used with Android or iOS Smart Phones alongside or in place of traditional cards. Users simply download the Symmetry Blue app and enrol directly into the Symmetry access control system. The free app does not require a licence, a separate portal or a third party subscription, offering an affordable, easy to install access control solution in today’s BYOD environment. After the user downloads the app, they can open a door or entry point by holding their mobile device near the reader.

Symmetry Blue is designed to work across the whole Symmetry product range and is compatible with any door controller. Ideal for new or existing installations, the readers also support NXP MIFARE, DESFire or 125khz proximity cards, and customers can use either a card, the app on their smart phone or both. Read ranges from the smart phone are configurable.

Symmetry Blue reader range is available with or without keypad, and can be used for indoor or outdoor installations.

Symmetry Blue readers are available through certified AMAG Technology integrators.
